Work Day!

After the long day yesterday, today was perfect. The only activity planned for today was to assist CEDO in a census for Sandy Beach in Puerto Penasco. While counting and identifying living organisms in the tide pools, there was a large number of hermit crabs living in the intertidal. Hermit crabs are arthropoda meaning they have segmented skeletons. They have an exoskeleton which is the shell they hide under and when they molt they grow their exoskeleton. The census only took 2 hours, and the rest of the day was time to prepare for the group presentations. Later today, the plan is to leave at 3 o’clock for some more souvenir shopping.
